The reds just pop. When unstabilized, these blanks are incredibly soft as boxelder is known to be, but stabilizing it makes it perfect for turning. The wood is very different from blank to blank. They have awesome red streaks throughout. Some may also have some "black line" spalting. You will receive one out of the batch.
